In 2019, Elevate has successfully applied at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO in Dutch) for a subsidy called “DHI Feasibility Study”. The subsidy scheme for demonstration projects, feasibility studies and investment preparation projects (DHI in Dutch) focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Kingdom of the Netherlands that have international ambitions and an interest in emerging markets and developing countries. The DHI programme helps SMEs to test the feasibility of their concepts abroad, so that more Dutch companies can successfully contribute to sustainable development in these regions.

Since 2018, Elevate has set more ambitious international goals and is aiming at training professionals across the globe in health and life sciences. Additionally, supporting high quality health research capacity building, by selling our products and transferring knowledge to international customers, is a key goal. To this extent, Elevate has started to offer a blended “train-the-trainer” programme and educated people in the field of instructional design for online courses in Indonesia.

In the past year we have intensified the collaboration with the Amref Health Africa’s Institute for Capacity Development (ICD) in Nairobi, the envisaged partner in Kenya. Elevate has decided to invest in the collaboration with ICD and this particular project, as it provides a sound basis for selling our products to a reliable partner in Kenya. This will also allow for a starting point for extending the business to other Sub-Saharan countries (e.g. exploring opportunities in Malawi or Burundi).

After having successfully passed the “Quickscan”, a first step in the application procedure for the subsidy in June 2019, Elevate enthusiastically worked her way through the next round with success.

Although the official kick-off of the feasibility study has already taken place in July, during a site visit in Kenya, the project is now in full swing. Elevate is very grateful to be awarded and is looking forward to a fruitful collaboration with ICD.
