Vitadent wanted to develop an online performance support platform to scale the Vitadent-knowledge nationally. Elevate redeveloped their face-to-face training 'dental care for eldery' into an online academy, for all dental caregivers.
Oral health care professionals at Vitadent are key in offering the specific care required in an era where oral health care is becoming more complex now more elderly people are retaining their own teeth. Specialized training opportunities are needed in this area, not only for elderly people at care facilities, but also for the increasing number of elderly living at home. Accessibility to proper oral care is a very important goal for Vitadent. This means that Vitadent employees as well as those working at other health care or training institutions are in need of specific training.
Together with Vitadent, Elevate developed a custom-made learning platform for the Vitadent Academy. Employees are actively engaged and are offered a broad range of topics such as oral care, prostodontics, preventive measures, government policies and legislation.
Vitadent’s main aim is to offer specialized training to oral care professionals. The challenge with these professionals is that they are difficult to reach and have little time due to their very busy jobs.
Custom made learning platform
Modules
Elevate’s instructional designers did a target-group analysis amongst the oral care professionals at Vitadent and used the insights gained to design and develop the Vitadent Academy. To do so we worked closely together with Risbo, an independent research, training and consultancy institute at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences.
The three most important key features of the Vitadent Academy result from the co-creation sessions organized by Elevate:
Accessible knowledge regarding oral health care: the custom-made learning platform is easily accessible.
Strong didactical framework: every module is based on an evidence-based didactical framework resulting from years of working within the academic Health & Life Sciences.
Quick answers to search questions: the modules offer hands-on answers to frequently asked questions that oral caretakers have to deal with during their day-to-day work with the elderly.
Partnering with Risbo, Vitadent and oral care professionals, Elevate has created a custom-made learning platform that offers the possibility to launch an online academy, accessible to all Vitadent clients.
