After obtaining a master’s degree in Evidence Based Practice at the University of Amsterdam in 2010, Pauline Heus joined the staff of Cochrane Netherlands (hosted by the Julius Center since 2014), where she contributes to systematic reviews and evidence based syntheses. She is also involved in teaching evidence based medicine and providing support to authors of (Cochrane) systematic reviews. In addition, Pauline is a PhD candidate at the Julius Center. Her research focuses on methodology of complex systematic reviews.

Before, from 2001 until 2014, Pauline worked as an optometrist and orthoptist at the ophthalmology department of the Medical Centre Alkmaar, and as a board member of the Dutch Optometric Association (Optometristen Vereniging Nederland, OVN) she actively contributed to the profession of optometry in the Netherlands.
