My Kingson K Shimray enrolled in a HIV Politics, Policy, Governance and Planning Mechanisms course in 2013

This eLearning was one of the best parts of the POL HIV module as this give us greater opportunity to interacting with my fellow colleagues.

Introduction

My name is My Kingson K Shimray from Manipur North, east India. I am 32 old, having 9 years of working experiences in the capacity of State Project Officer, Monitoring and evaluation officer and Learning Initiative officer for implementing Harm reduction project EHA –Project ‘ORCHID’ (A collaborative effort of Emmanuel Hospital Association and Australian International Health Institute Funded by Bill and Melinda Gate’s Foundation). Currently doing my Master in Public health specialising in Sexual and reproductive health & HIV/AIDS in Koninklijk Instituut voor de Tropen (KIT) - Royal Tropical Institute Netherlands Amsterdam.

E-learning / distance learning

This is one of my first experiences doing eLearning in POL HIV and it was one of the best way to learn from my peers, especially providing feedback, debating certain topics in the same plate form, which really makes us read more and response to what my peers are asking or saying on the certain topics, it also really save time to go to class every day. Yes I can now easily enrolled myself in any type of this kind of module in my own places, which will really save my time money etc and if I don’t know anything in any topics i can just post to my peers in the ELearning so they can easily provide me with good ideas. I really recommend to everyone regardless of disciplines any field. As many student and those who are working does have time and capacity to go to university regularly and get their degree and at the same time continue to work , so this eLearning will really enhance for better access to interact with the people around the world.

HIV Policy, Politics, Governance and Planning Mechanisms Course

This eLearning was one of the best parts of the POL HIV module as this give us greater opportunity to interacting with my fellow colleague apart from attending the class together. To me this is one of the best peer review module as I have the chances to read their paper and at the same time provide feedback. We can post anything we wanted to know or anything we wanted to share with our peers. I would really recommend this course to others.

Benefits

Apart from my course I have learned many things. First of all peer review was one of the best experiences. Second, sharing information related to our work discussion and debating with my fellow colleagues with the same topic provided me with immense knowledge.
