Mary Kassimbi Rwegasira

from Dar es Salaam , Tanzania

Mary Kassimbi Rwegasira enrolled in a HIV Politics, Policy, Governance and Planning Mechanisms course in 2013

I learned a lot about the program and I highly recommend the course to others.

Introduction

My name is Mary Kassimbi Rwegasira, born 1962, trained in clinical medicine, gender issues in development and social work. Worked as clinician for 13 years in Government hospital thereafter, from 2001 joined social agency for humanitarian development services in the field of HIV and and equality (Gender), Currently am working with Concern Worldwide in Tanzania as National Equality Advisory.

Distance learning/ elearning

It was my first time to use eLearning/distance learning, I found it useful method of learning and highly interactive especially for those who were not beginners like me. However, even for beginners it was easy to follow instruction and catch-up because we had full support how to use it during POL HIV module. This method can be useful for people who find it difficult to leave the job for the sake of continuing education, especially single parents (both women and men) and married women who can not get permission from their husbands to leave family because of further education. I liked eLearning, and sincerely speaking I enjoyed it though through difficulty pathway!

HIV Policy, Politics, Governance and Planning Mechanisms Course

I learned a lot about the program and I highly recommend the course to others. The course increased the skills of interacting with peers in a professional way- so it was really helpful to others as well.

Benefits

The most benefit from eLearning is the possibility to use it in future if required. For example my self I am not interested to continue with Phd but I am very much interested with distance learning short courses. I am sure that if opportunity arises, I will enjoy using eLearning.
