Jaime Rofinafrom The Netherlands
Jaime Rofina enrolled in a Teaching an Online Course course in 2013
So what I enjoyed about the course is that it opened a whole new world for me
My name is Jaime Rofina, 51 years old, Veterinarian and work as an assistant-professor at the university of Utrecht, Faculty of Veterinary medicine, department of Pathobiology. I teach the basics of veterinary pathology to veterinary students. I am also involved in processing self-study material for these students.
Distance learning was a new experience for me. I had to fit it in my daily schedule and remember to work at it. I got used to it after the 1st week. I would recommend this type of learning to people who are not able to attend a course at a fixed time but have the leisure to work at home or fit a course at their own convenience. This also how I used it to my advantage.
Distance learning was a new experience for me.
Teaching an Online Course
I chose this course because I am hired to create online courses for another audience than our veterinarian students and I have no experience in this. I also have no clue of the possibilities that exist. So what I enjoyed about the course is that it opened a whole new world for me. That it gave me some new insights that I can also use for F2F teaching. I would recommend this course to everyone who has little or no experience in online teaching because the course was clear and well moderated and online teaching is a main focus point at many academies.
the course was clear and well moderated and online teaching is a main focus point at many academies
As stated before, I have learned many possibilities for online courses. This enabled me to apply my new insights at my work as a teacher and moderator, to improve both online and offline (F2F) courses.
