Jamal Uddin

from Dhaka , Bangladesh

Jamal Uddin enrolled in a Clinical Epidemiology course in 2012

The courses provided by Elevate are ideally suited to my needs.
With a busy research work schedule to manage, I didn’t really have the time to join a full, face-to-face course -- despite the fact that a course looking at the clinical issues of epidemiology would be very useful to my pharmacoepidemiology studies. The option provided by Elevate to follow an e-learning course, guided by tutors at the Julius Center, UMCUtrecht, was very appealing to me as I could plan my studies outside of my office hours. Content-wise, the course -- Clinical Epidemiology -- was well organised and informative. Learning took place through a number of channels, but the one I found most useful was the open discussion forum. Using the forum, students and teachers could both post and comment on a variety of topics, some of which were very specific to the individual. Therefore, even though the course was being taught distantly, one-to-one support was still always available. I found the debates we held online very interesting, considering new and topical issues and potential solutions. Overall, I enjoyed the course and found the tools and quality of the learning provided by Elevate to be ideally suited to my needs.
